Nimbus Labs is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to join our Engineering team. This is a chance to make a direct, visible impact on how we build and support our product.

We move quickly, communicate directly, and give people the autonomy to do their best work without unnecessary process.

You'll work closely with partners across the company, contributing to decisions that shape both the team and the product.

About the team

Engineering at Nimbus Labs is a small, tight-knit group that values craftsmanship and clear thinking over busywork.

Everyone on the Engineering team has a direct line to leadership — decisions get made quickly, without layers of approval.

  • Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code
  • Own services end-to-end, from design to on-call support
  • Collaborate with product and design to scope new features
  • Mentor junior engineers through pairing and review
  • Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions
  • Design, build, and maintain features across the stack

Candidate Profile

  • Experience with relational databases and API design
  • Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • A track record of shipping production software
  • Solid grasp of version control workflows
  • Ability to communicate technical trade-offs clearly

Nice to have

  • Open-source contributions
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipeline design
  • Prior experience at an early-stage startup
  • Familiarity with observability tooling (logging, tracing, metrics)

Recruiting Process

Our hiring process starts with a short online screening test tied to this posting — usually under 30 minutes — so you can demonstrate your skills directly instead of relying on a generic application.

If you pass the test(s) attached to this role, your application moves straight to our hiring team for review, typically within 5 business days.

From there, expect two to three conversations with the team and hiring manager, followed by a decision and offer. We aim to keep the whole process under 4 weeks from start to finish.
