Brookside Labs is looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to help scale our Legal function as the company grows.

We move quickly, communicate directly, and give people the autonomy to do their best work without unnecessary process.

This role has plenty of room to grow as the company scales — we promote from within whenever we can.

Legal at Brookside Labs is a small, tight-knit group that values craftsmanship and clear thinking over busywork.

The team is a mix of senior and mid-level practitioners who collaborate daily and review each other's work closely.

Candidate Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts
Advise internal stakeholders on legal and regulatory risk
Manage outside counsel on specialist matters
Maintain the company's compliance program
Track and respond to regulatory changes affecting the business
Support data protection and privacy compliance

Candidate Profile

Strong commercial contract drafting experience
Qualified lawyer or equivalent professional experience
Excellent attention to detail
3+ years in-house or at a law firm

Nice to have

Data privacy certification (e.g. CIPP)
Experience supporting fundraising or M&A
Experience in a regulated industry
